-
A strong field of players is raring to wage battle in the forthcoming fourth Nanoy Ilusorio Golf Cup set Dec. 29 in Baguio City.

Site of the one-day golf tournament will be the short but rolling and tricky par-61 Baguio Country Club (BCC) golf course, one of the oldest clubs in the country which will be celebrating its centennial year in 2005.

"The tournament is held in honor of the late Potenciano "Nanoy" Ilusorio, BCC president emeritus and chairman for Life," said lawyer Federico Agacaoili, president of BCC.

"The tournament was conceived to pay tribute to Ilusorio — a sportsman, a leader and a visionary, whose heart and ideals have touched lives of countless people," he added.

Anthony de Leon, BCC general manager said: "The tournament is a tribute to Nanoy. He is our No. 1 supporter, not only in golf but in almost all fields of sports and also in the field of commerce. The public and the corporate world are witnesses to it."

"He (Nanoy) believed in the capability of every Filipino in attaining the best and by organizing this event, participants are encouraged to demonstrate their sporting talents."
