Ali Peek became the first free agent given a contract-extension by his ballclub this off-season as the Fil-Am behemoth signed a three-year pact with Alaska Milk worth P13.5 million.
"No pun intended but we believe Ali Peek is in the peak of his playing career," said Alaska team manager Joaqui Trillo.
The Alaska management has given Peek the maximum pay of P350,000 a month the next three years though coming off an injury.
Peek sat out most of the third conference in the recently-concluded 2003 season after undergoing a knee surgery.
Trillo said theyre now under negotiation with John Arigo while about to sign Stephen Padilla to a two-year pact.
Also according to Trillo, the fates of Alvin Castro, Richard del Rosario, Jon Ordonio and Migs Noble will be decided after the annual draft on Jan 16.
Alaska is No. 5 in the draft order, and Trillo said they intend to use it in enlisting a big man. Nelson Beltran
