GAB chair leads celebs in senior tennis

Games and Amusements Board chairman Eduardo Villanueva leads a field of celebrities clashing for honors in the Philippine Tennis Management, Inc. (PTMI) senior executive tennis tournament set Dec. 7-14 at the Quezon City Sports Club on E. Rodriguez Ave. in Quezon City.

Villanueva will be joined by GAB commissioner Angel Bautista in the 35-above tournament, the first in a series of tournaments lined up by the newly-formed PTMI in cooperation with the QCSC.

Tournament sponsors are Dunlop-Slazenger, Forten Tennis Accessories, Adidas, Sulo Hotel, Viva Mineral Water, Racks Restaurant and RFM Corp.

Other celebrities in the tournament open to senior executives are Court Administrator, Justice Presby Velasco, actor Mandy Ochoa, showbiz personalities Soren Legaspi and Romy Chan and restaurateur Peter Lee of Peter Lee’s Hong Kong Tea House.

The inaugural tournament features men’s competitions in the 35, 40, 50 and 55 years-above categories and doubles in the 35, 45, 50, 55 and 60 years-above classes. Lined up in the ladies side are the 30 and 35-above categories.

The tournament is staged by PTMI, an organization founded by a senior executives whose mission is to launch a nationwide search for future stars starting on the club level.

Interested parties have until Dec. 3 to register at the Philippine Columbian Association, QCSC, Valle Verde Country Club and Rizal Sports Club-Pasig.
