Fash flashes awesome form

Stung by a loss to Montaña Jewels the last time out, Fash Liquid Power vented its ire on Blustar Detergents with a 80-54 blowout yesterday to barge into the win column in the PBL Platinum Cup at the University of Santo Tomas Gym.
Atoning for a lackluster effort in his teams 67-70 loss to the Jewelers last week, Peter Jun Simon whipped up a second quarter storm as he came up with 15 points that set the tone for the rout in the leagues most lopsided game so far this conference.
Simon finished the game with 21 markers, shooting eight-of-10 from the field in just 15 minutes of action to lift the reigning Unity Cup champions to their first triumph in two outings.
"Maganda siguro gising ko ngayon kaya ganito kaganda ang nilaro ko," said the 23-year-old Simon, a native of North Cotabato.
But more than Simons awesome offense, it was defense that spelled the Detergent Kings doom.
Alex Compton buried a three-pointer with 6.7 seconds to go as Sunkist-UST rallied from a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter to stun ICTSI-La Salle, 62-61, in the second game.
The Tigers thus evened their card at 1-1 while dealing the Archers their second straight loss.
It was a bitter defeat for the Archers, who led, 55-39, going into the final period but were held to just six points by the tough-defending Tigers.
ICTSI actually had a chance to steal the win but Cholo Villanuevas baseline jumper bounced off the rim as Compton plucked the rebound to seal the victory.
