Coming on the heels of its recent blockbuster card at the San Lazaro Leisure Park (SLLP), Manila Jockey Club Inc. (MJCI), the country’s premier race club, ushers in another weeklong program of well-balanced races starting tomorrow at the country’s newest and most modern racing complex in Carmona, Cavite.

MJCI’s top-notch race program serves as a prelude to the much-awaited staging of two featured classic races at the end of the year and the upcoming twin-bill JRA Cup and PSA Cup Races Nov. 30.

"We would like to invite all racing fans to join us for another week of exciting thoroughbred racing action at the new home of championship racing," according to Henri Kahn, MJCI vice president for corporate management.

Among the other highlight events scheduled to take place at the SLLP within the coming weeks are the prestigious PCSO Presidential Gold Cup Race Dec. 14 and the yearend Philracom Open Classic Dec. 28.

Meanwhile, MJCI continues its regular midweek racing schedule with an eight-race night racing program starting tomorrow at 6 p.m. through Thursday. Nine races are set to be staged on Friday while 13 races each would be on schedule for Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The SLLP currently boasts of a twin-oval all-weather racetrack. MJCI utilizes both ovals on a regular basis depending on the distance of the scheduled race.

More than 600 horses are currently stabled at the club’s stabling facility which is still being expanded to accommodate more than 1,000 horses.

The San Lazaro Leisure Park is only 36 kilometers south of Manila and is easily accessible by using either the Carmona or Southwoods exits.
