Host La Salle notches 2nd win in row in Unigames

Host La Salle-Dasmariñas notched its second straight victory with a 108-78 rout of Cavite State University yesterday in the men’s basketball tournament of the National University Games at the Palaruang La Salle gymnasium.

The win was a big follow-up to their 86-61 victory over St. Louis University of Baguio as La Salle-
Dasmariñas seized the lead in Group D.

Defending champion St. Francis, Adamson University and the College of St. Benilde likewise hurdled their rivals in their respective divisions.

The St. Francis Doves rode on an explosive start to clobber Ateneo de Zamboanga, 82-59, to move in front of Group A.

The Falcons prevailed over University of Assumption-Pampanga, 94-69, to show the way in Group C.

The CSB Blazers, with veterans Al Magpayo and Ron Capati on the firing end, blasted University of Iloilo, 106-84, in Group B action.

In volleyball, UAAP runner-up University of the Philippines made its presence felt by defeating Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion, 25-12, 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, in the men’s action.

In men’s football, University of Mindanao came away with a 14-0 rout of Cavite State University.

La Salle-Manila prevailed over San Beda, 2-0, while La Salle-Lipa trounced Foundation University, 9-1.

In the women’s side, FEU won over the CSB Lady Blazers, 1-0; La Salle-Manila edged Silliman, 3-0; and UP-Diliman thwarted Foundation University, 2-1.

University of Santo Tomas blanked Ateneo, 4-0.
