Fund lack puts Pastor’s Macau bid in peril

Enzo Pastor, the 2002 Asian Formula Renault champion, is seeking to run in the 50th Macau Grand Prix this November, but a lack of funding may prevent him from doing so.

The sad reality downed on the 21-year old Filipino, after receiving an invitation from Peter Thompson and Team Meritus, the outfit that produced the likes of F1 stars David Coulthard and Takuma Sato.

According to Enzo’s father and team manager, Tom Pastor, "the news came as a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we cannot give Peter a positive reply as our resources have been used up by Enzo’s current Asian Formula 3 campaign and Don’s (Pastor) participation in Formula BMW Asia," he said.

He added that they are asking the government and private sector to support the Philippine Formula Autosport Foundation and give Enzo a chance to compete in Macau again.

Enzo ran in last year’s Macau Grand Prix where he qualified third and was running in second place during the race until he was forced into a wall.
