With a member-guest golf tournament aptly called Fore x Four as the highlight, several sports activities have been lined up for the much-awaited Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club Inaugural Weekend, the grand opening of the countrys biggest golf complex in Gen. Trias, Cavite, slated Sept. 20-21.
The Fore x Four event on Sept. 20 will put into special focus all the championship courses of Eagle Ridge bearing the imprints of American Andy Dye, Japanese Isao Aoki, Nick Faldo of England and soon Greg Norman of Australia.
The Norman course, the back nine of which is expected to be playable next month, will complete the four-course, 72-hole package of the multi-billion peso joint venture project of Alsons Land Corp. and Sta. Lucia Realty.
Tomas Alcantara, chair of the ERGCC board, and Sta. Lucia president Exequiel Robles have already approved the final plans to be implemented by a steering committee headed by ERGCC project director Winifred Gob.
There will be separate competitions in each course where members and their chosen guests will be vying for prizes. Registration for the golf tournament starts at 6 a.m. and sequential tee-off follows from 7 to 11 a.m.
The seniors will be playing at the Norman side, the ladies at Aoki and the men either at the Dye or Faldo courses. For inquiries, members and interested parties may call 046-4192855.
The rest of the sports activities will be staged at the state-of-the-art Family Clubhouse, the biggest of the three clubhouses at Eagle which houses a 14-lane bowling alley, billiard hall, badminton courts, tennis courts, a basketball court and a resort-type swimming pool.
There will be exhibition matches and clinics in swimming, tennis and bowling for members, their families and guests. Also on tap are an age-group tennis competition and team event in bowling.
