The Philippine Pro-Boxing League invades the City of Angels with a quadruple bill at the Casino Filipino in Angeles City on Aug. 16.
Leading the charge are the top eight fighters who disposed of their respective opponents in the elimination round of the first PPBL National Invitational Pro-Boxing Championship.
Heading the stellar cast of quarterfinalists are former RP flyweight champion Eugene "the Machine Gun" Gonzales and Zambales native Alfred "the Pinatubo Tremor" Nagal, two aggressive campaigners who see a no-holds-barred contest as they vie for a semifinal slot against their respective opponents.
"Matindi na ang bakbakan dito dahil puro galing sa panalo ang maglalaban-laban," says Gonzales, who is pitted against Jun Eballe of Kibawe, Bukidnon.
Meanwhile, Nagal, a fearsome heavy hitter in this division, expects a similar battle against the agile Elmer "the Hitman" Muyco. "Hindi na pwede ang pasayaw-sayaw dito dahil lahat gustong maka-akyat sa semifinals. Galit-galit muna," he added.
Completing the quadruple bill are Philip "El Pistolero" Parcon who will test his skills against veteran punching machine Gerald Ubatay, and Danilo "the Dragon" Peña going up against unbeaten Jimboy "Pretty Boy" Rodriguez.
