A day after towing his RP squad, also composed of CJ Suarez and Biboy Rivera, to the lead of the mens team event, Valdez made it all the way from 13th to second place in the singles event of the Boysen, Philippine Sports Commission, Kegel Asia and AVIVA sponsored tournament.
Valdez, champion in the first leg of the Asian Bowling Tour early this year, submitted scores of 969 pinfalls, not sufficient to topple leader Purvis Granger (976) but good enough to surpass Benny Dytoc, Rivera and Tyrone Ongpauco, whose identical totals of 965 relegated them to a share of third place.
Meanwhile, Valdezs RP team continued to share the lead in the team side with the RP Youth squad of Ian Dychangco, Diego Candano and Jonas Baltasar, both with similar scores of 1261.
Elsewhere, the same names kept their hold of the top spot with Granger still showing the way in the mens all events and Liza del Rosario hanging on to the No. 1 spots in the ladies singles, all events, doubles and team.
