NBL caging blasts off in Ozamiz City

OZAMIZ CITY Regional basketball action fires off today with the opening of the National Basketball Leagues first national championship at the Gov. Angel Medina Memorial gym here.
Two games pitting reigning Interclub champion Spring Cooking Oil-Bulacan against Cebus Lhuillier Kwarta Padala at 5 p.m. and host team Compak Shineway-Ozamiz against Air Philippines-Bacolod Flights at 7 oclock will follow the hour-long opening ceremony set at 4.
Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr. will deliver an inspirational talk, declare the league open and make the ceremonial toss together with other guests. Vice Mayor Carlos Patricio Bernad will welcome the participating teams and officials of the tourney sponsored by Tanduay Rhum, Air Philippines, Natures Spring Mineral Water, BJ Star Logistics, The Freeman, Supercat, Cebu Ferries and Molten Basketballs.
The games will be televised over IBC 13 through the facilities of Silverstar Communications.
Two other games will be played here tomorrow before action shifts to the C. P. Tinga Memorial Hall in Taguig City.
It will be Air Philippines-Bacolod Flights against the Lhuillier Jewellers at 1 p.m. and the Spring Cooking Oil Masters against the Compak Shineway Boardmakers at 3.
