The first event, set Sunday, is the third leg of the EnervonNational Age Group Triathlon (NAGT) 2003 series in Dumaguete City with 70 to 80 Visayas-based triathletes expected to compete.
The Dumaguete event will cater to the 16-and-above triathletes while the other competition, for 5 to 15 years old, is the first leg of the Fit and Tri Youth Triathlon series set at the Las Villas de Manila in Biñan, Laguna.
"These two events complement each other as the youth triathlon series expands the base of triathletes while Enervon-NAGT provides continuity for those coming from the youth triathlon events in terms of regular quality competition," said Tom Carrasco, TRAP president.
The Enervon-NAGT event in Dumaguete has the backing of corporate sponsors like Speedo and Reliv as well as the Philippine Sports Commission aside from the city government of Dumaguete headed by Mayor Agustin Perdices and the provincial government under Gov. George Arnaiz.
