Bombers, Knights win anew in FIBL

-
Defending champion Knights and title contender Bombay Bombers registered their second straight win in contrasting styles to share the early lead after two days in the on-going FIBL tournament at the Makati Coliseum.

The Knights, behind a quick start that saw them take control of the game early, feasted on the slow-starting Titans en route to an easy 103-78 victory with the game’s result never in doubt as the first quarter ended with the Knights ahead, 23-6, behind game MVP Ravi Gurnamal, who had a triple double performance.

The Bombers had a slow start that saw them trail the Hoop It Up King but recovered and erected a slim 19-15 lead at the end of the first quarter, then behind league MVP contender Kishore Mirpuri who caught fire and exploded with back to back triples in the second quarter, the Bombers seemed to have taken the fight out of their opponents, ahead by 17, 50-33 at the half.

However, former PBA cager Mike Advani’s ward did not lose heart and behind a patient offense and a tightened defense, the Kings crept closer and closer behind Kenneth and Pravin Sharma with two minutes left were just a point behin
