Zoleta triumphs in Hilado Cup

Girls 18-under top seed Bien Zoleta survived fifth pick Alyssa Labay, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1, yesterday to enter the semifinals of the Luis Hilado Memorial Cup at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
Zoleta will face Ana Ysabel Soriano, a 7-5, 6-3 winner over Amanda Romero. Also advancing was second seed Catherine Flores, who beat Kristel Samala, 6-0, 6-3.
In the 16-under division, Bambi Zoleta outlasted Ivy de Castro, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, to join top seeds Bien Zoleta, No. 2 Catherine Flores and No. 4 Ara Micayabas in the Final Four.
Seventh seed Nico Riego De Dios upset fourth seed Laurence Magaway, 7-5, 6-1, to reach the boys 18-under semifinal.
In the boys 14-under class, No. 1 Daniel Luis Macalino downed No. 8 Martin Ramos, 6-4, 6-4.
to forge a semifinal meeting with fourth seed Joshua Tan Ho, a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 winner over Renato Suarez. Other winners were No. 2 Russell Arcilla Jr. over No. 5 Juan Felipe Mayor, 6-3, 6-3, and No. 3 Pablo Olivarez II over El Santo Santos, 6-4, 6-2.
