SAN PABLO CITY Manila scored a lopsided 20-2 triumph over Nueva Ecija for its second consecutive win in the Big League 16-18 girls softball event of the 2003 Little League Philippine Series at the San Luis Sports Complex in Sta. Cruz, Laguna yesterday.
The victory virtually assured the Manileñas of a finals slot in the three-team, double round robin format where the champion will represent the country in the World Series in Kalamazoo, Michigan in August this year. They tamed last years tormentor ILLAM, 7-3, Wednesday.
Starting pitcher Patricia Dimal, who threw for four innings, and reliever Esmeralda Tayag each gave up a solitary hit in the five-inning abbreviated contest.
