Narvaez rips rivals in Milo junior tennis

-
Miguel Narvaez struck-out Jakarta-bound Nestor Celestino Jr., 5-7, 6-4, 7-5, then demolished Bryan Dayleg, 6-2, 6-2, to gain a semifinal seat in separate divisions in the 2003 Milo Junior Tennis Cup and Regional Workshop yesterday at the Olivarez Sports Center indoor courts.

Narvaez, playing out of Southwoods Tennis Academy, tangles with World Youth Cupper and topseed Kyle Dandan in the boys’ 18-under while Michael Basco, a 6-0, 6-1, victor past Mark Andrada, meets Lawrence Magaway, who ousted Boris Chavez, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, in the other half of the Milo netfest organized by Children’s Tennis Workshop and supported by Wilson balls, Adidas and Sports Kids with a Group-2 Philta sanction.

Narvaez takes on Dandan anew in the boys’ 16-under class lower bracket, while Celestino, who downed Jojo Opulencia, 6-2, 6-1, tangles with Basco, a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Chung Soo Han.

In the unisex 10-under age group, Saudi Arabia-based Nikki Wolny whipped Liz Magaway 6-3, 6-0, and together with Dhahran Junior tennis Association (DJTA) teammate Aalok Mehta, who bested John Ribaya 6-2, 6-0, barged into the last 4.
