Anton sweeps opening rounds of national touring car

ROSARIO, Batangas – Carlos Anton of Gulf Oil-MP Turbo displayed superb driving skills and swept the opening rounds of the National Touring Car Championship – centerpiece event of the Casino Filipino Grand Prix at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

Hardly bothered by the presence of the country’s top drivers, Anton outduelled Ferdinand Ong of Spedwelle twice in the day to take the headstart in the N1 category in this prestigious series organized by the Batangas Racing Circuit Association (BRA) and sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippine (AAP).

Anton negotiated the 3.1-kilometer race course in 25:57.175 against 26:02.450 of Ong and 26:09.742 of Philip Alvendia of A3 Motorsports in the season-opening round.
