Delariarte, Vinluan to vie in Royal Johor golf

Philippine Amateur champion Jerome Delariarte and Erwin Vinluan left yesterday for Johor Bahru, Malaysia to represent the Philippines in the second Royal Invitational Open 2003 set at the Royal Johor Golf Club on March 28-30.
Delariarte, 24, and Vinluan, 25, who are members of the Southwoods Team, earned the slots after topping the two-day NGAP qualifying event hosted by Alabang Country Club, tthrough director Godofredo Galindez and golf director Caloy Coscolluela.
Vinluan will be making his rookie appearance as a RP team member.
NGAP president Rod Feliciano is thanking the organizing Royal Johor Golf Club thru the Malaysian Golf Association for its invitation which includes free airfare, board and lodging expenses; Sec. Eduardo Ermita, NGAP honorary chairman and director, for his financial support; and, Lovelle Gopez, managing director of Master Sports for providing the Mizuno T-shirts as playing uniforms.
Feliciano further added, "With minimal expense involved, this is good exposure for our players who will miss the SEA Games but are lined up to compete in the Putra, Nomura, and the Spirit team championships set late this year. Good luck to Jerome and Erwin."
Both players will compete for team and individual honors against the best players from Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and host country Malaysia.
