The second leg of the Federation of Philippine Senior Golfers, Inc. tournament series will be held on March 25 at the Valley Golf Club course in Antipolo City. Tee off time is 6:30 a.m.
This was announced yesterday by former congressman and FPSGI president emeritus Frisco San Juan, who said some 100 golfers from 21 affiliate chapters of the federation are expected to participate in the 18-hole competition.
Valley golf senior chapter president Ricardo "Bomba" Consunji is tournament host.
"The tournament, just like all forthcoming tournaments, will provide members of the different participating chapters of the Federation an opportunity to renew friendship that will strengthen camaraderie," San Juan said.
Fortune Life Insurance Company Inc., headed by businessman and golf lover himself retired Col. Antonio Cabangon Chua, is sponsor of the second leg.
Tournament committee chairman Anthony Fernandez of the Club Intramuros chapter said it will be an individual and team competition in the 5-to-play-4-to-count blind Callaway format.
It will be a semi-shotgun tee off because of the big number of participants, according to Fernandez.
Valuable raffle prizes are at stake during the awarding ceremonies.
The first leg of the golf series was held at Eastridge Golf and Country Club late January. It was sponsored by San Miguel Corporation and jointly hosted by the Fort Bonifacio Seniors Chapter under Rudy Cinco, Founders Chapter president Honorio Zapata and the young ones Orchard Chapter headed by Eduardo Espejo.
