SMB All-Star project launched in Davao

-
DAVAO CITY — San Miguel Corp. launched its All-Star project here on the very same day the PBA cancelled its scheduled game Saturday in the company’s effort to help this southern metropolis bounce back after the tragic airport bombing incident last March 4.

"We want to show to the Dabawenyos that San Miguel Corporation is not just a friend but a family. San Miguel feels that we should do our share to rebuild Davao. Hindi lang kami kaibigan, ka-pamilya rin kami ng mga Dabawenyo," said Ira Maniquis, SMC vice president and corporate affairs director, during Saturday night’s press conference that also served as the launch of the San Miguel All-Star teams project.

He stressed that it was upon the instruction of SMC president Ramon Ang that the All-Star teams should be in Davao City for the Araw ng Dabaw activities to show the company’s support to this city.

The PBA was supposed to stage the FedEx-Alaska game last Saturday as part of the city’s celebration of the 66th Araw ng Dabaw festivities but decided to cancel the game in the aftermath of the March 4 bombing that killed 22 people and injured 159 others.
