Fil-Estate to hold tennis, swim camps

The Fil-Estate Sports Foundation, Inc. (FESFI) will conduct tennis and swimming training camps next month.
FESFI chair Robert John Sobrepeña said next month, the summer training programs for tennis and swimming are part of the foundations unending commitment to help in the development of sports in the country.
"We have a good chance of excelling in tennis internationally. We now have results to back it up. This is definitely a step toward a long journey in bringing back the glory of Philippine sports," he said.
"Since its creation four years ago, the Southwoods Tennis Academy has produced players that are now representing the country in various international competitions like the Davis Cup, Southeast Asian Games, World Super Juniors and the ITF Circuits. The Fil-Estate/Southwoods is proud to have developed Joseph Victorino, the 19-year-old tennis sensation and the countrys No. 1 tennis player. He won the National and PCA Open tennis championships last year and a champion of the recently Philta Open," Sobrepeña added.
The Manila Southwoods Sports Club inside the sprawling Manila Southwoods Golf & Country Club and Bramante Piazza (second floor Renaissance Center, Meralco Ave., Pasig City) will host the tennis camps. Manny Tecson, a former World Group Davis Cup captain will conduct the training. Training fees are P2,500 (beginners) and P3,000 (intermediate).
Summer swimming lessons will be held also at the Manila Southwoods Sports Club. Training fees are P2,500 for beginners and P3,000 for the advance participants.
