Taurus International, maker of first-rate firearms used by the some of the countrys finest shooters, made history recently when it won the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence honors for 2002 in a rare sweep of the triple crown.
The firm earlier bagged the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers award and the Shot Business Award presented at the 2002 Shot Show, marking the first time that a single manufacturer has won all three awards in a row.
The award was presented by Shooting Industry magazine editor Russ Thurman and Academy of Excellence director Randy Molde to Taurus International. The Academy of Excellence award is decided by the members of the academy in a secret ballot. The membership consists of industry executives and journalists.
Former national members Leo Mangubat, PPSA pres. Sintin also shot the Taurus PT92 at the World Shoot held in South Africa in Oct. 2002.
