Miñoza, Gibson invited to P3.5-M Razon golf

A star-studded cast of 40 professionals, headed by no less than the Philippines No. 1 Frankie Miñoza, has been invited to play in the first Don Pocholo Razon Memorial Invitational golf tournament.
And to add dash to make it international, Canadas Rick Gibson, the reigning Philippine Open champion, has also been invited to the event set Feb. 25- 28 at the Country Club.
So far, only 38 are in the list but the 39th and 40th slots are reserved for the winners of the First Gentleman Circuit legs at the Orchards and Manila Southwoods.
The 40 will form part of the field for the pro-am event slated on the first round. The pros continue to play, with the top 21 making it to the last, two rounds.
Ricky Razon Jr., president of the International Container Services, Inc., is launching the 72-hole tournament "to honor the memory of his father."
Don Pocholo founded ICTSI in 1987 and turned it into the biggest ports management company in the country.
Razon is bankrolling the tournament to the tune of P3.5 million with the champion returning home with P1,000,000. Second prize is P550,000.
Aside from Miñoza and Gibson, other top guns seeing action are Cassius Casas, Rodolfo Cuello, Mars Pucay, Robert Pactolerin, Gerald Rosales, Danny Zarate, Benjie Magada, Rey Pagunsan, Richard Sinfuego and Antonio Lascu&nt
