Don Bosco booters blank Ateneo in Go-for-Goal finals

DUMAGUETE CITY Cebus Don Bosco Technology Center made an impressive start in the Coke Go-for-Goal under-16 national football finals yesterday by crushing Ateneo de Davao, 4-0, at the Silliman ballfield here.
The Cebuanos raced to a commanding 3-0 halftime lead on the goals of Jaime Ebreo Jr., Mark Ivan Bedic and Jerome Batad in the 10th, 16th and 39th minutes, respectively, and never looked back.
Francis Noli Dumadag completed the rout by knocking in the Cebuanos fourth marker with only four minutes left in the game.
Host San Miguel High School of Bacong, Negros Oriental was playing La Salle Academy of Iligan at presstime.
La Salle Academy and San Miguel are in Group A with NCR (National Capital Region) champion Ateneo de Manila while Don Bosco and Ateneo de Davao are in Group B together with Masbate Comprehensive High School.
Action resumes today with the Ateneo de Manila booters facing La Salle Academy at 7:30 a.m. and Don Bosco gunning for its second win and a place in the semifinals against Masbate at 9:30.
