80 teams invited to MCA chess tiff

About 80 chess teams have been invited to join the first quarter leg of Metropolitan Chess Association (MCA) Amateur League set to Feb. 22-23 at the Lotus Garden Hotel located in Malate, Manila.
Considered one of the biggest local team competitions in the country, the two-day event offers more than P150,000 in cash prizes.
Early entries include Bol-Anon, PNP, Aspire-IT, SSS, Letran, UP, TIP, LEX Corp., DTI, DPWH, PNOC, PhilHealth, Nestle-Cabuyao, Paircargo, Agoo Computer College, cities of Valenzuela, Malabon, Caloocan, Parañaque, Lipa, and provinces of Bulacan, Olongapo, Ilocos Sur, Pampanga and Bicol.
Each team is composed of four members with three regular players and one alternate. A team can field a master, who plays on board one only, provided that the sum of the latest NCFP ratings of the three highest rated members does not exceed 6000
