Canlubang, Bacolod clouters score in Talavera

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija Canlubang Junior Barons bounced back into contention yesterday with an 8-6 win over Makati, while Bacolod remained the solo leader in group B with a clean 2-0 win-loss card after a 17-1 decision over Tuguegarao in the All-High School National baseball championships at the Talavera National High School grounds here.
Canlubang established a two-run lead in the second inning on Edmond Pusags two-run triple, which could have been a three-run homerun if he touched homeplate.
Canlubang stretched its lead to six on Melvin Castros three-run homerun in the third inning and another by Pusag in the fourth inning before Makati managed to cut it down to just five runs on Richard Leonors sacrifice that drove in Justin Torio.
The game became more exciting in the fifth inning as Makati made a big rally, scoring three runs on a hit and two Canlubang errors with Canlubang leading by just two runs, 6-4.
