PSA Annual Awards over NBN-4 tonite

The 2002 PSA Annual Awards Night will be telecast over NBN-4 today at 9 p.m.
The show, hosted by basketball star Alex Compton and sportscaster Patricia Bermudez, features 75 athletes and sports leaders, led by Sportswoman of the Year Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, who were honored by the Philippine Sportswriters Association during the Annual Awards Night held Jan. 10 at the Holiday Inn Manila.
The show is sponsored by Red Bull, Photokina and Agfa and supported by Samsung, San Miguel Corporation, the Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and Adidas.
The major awardees of 2002 are Willie Miller (pro basketball), Enrico Villanueva (amateur basketball), Django Bustamante/Antonio Lining, Efren Reyes (billiards), Paeng Nepomuceno/RJ Bautista, Liza del Rosario (bowling), Angelo Que, Dottie Ardina, Jayvie Agojo (amateur golf), Harry Tanamor (amateur boxing), and Wind Blown (horse of the year).
PSA awarded the Presidents Award to the Ateneo Blue Eagles/Coach Joel Banal and the Special Award to PNP Chief Superintendent Cris Maralit, a former sportswriter. The individual lifetime awardees are former PBA commissioners Jun Bernardino, Rudy Salud and Leo Prieto.
Also among the awardees are the Asian Games silver and bronze medalists, international winners in various sports, sports organizations at the forefront of sports development and sports greats who passed away in 2002.
