Cyrus Baguio buried a long jumper with less than a second to go as Dazz Dishwashing Liquid edged Blu All Purpose, 85-83, in overtime yesterday to clinch a twice-to-beat advantage in the PBL Challenge Cup semifinals at the Pasig Sports Center.
Baguios heroics won half of the battle for the Grease Busters as they enter the semis needing only a win over the Detergent Kings on Saturday to book a finals berth.
Allan Salangsang, also made things happen for Dazz as he rallied his team from 11 points down in the fourth quarter with key three-pointers although it was Baguios triple with 1.3 seconds in regulation that forced an extra period.
After Eric dela Cuesta, who erupted for eight markers in OT, drained a jumper to level the count at 83-all with 3.2 ticks remaining, Baguio caught a baseball pass by Eugene Tan from the backcourt for the game-winner.
In the first game, ICTSI La Salle smashed LBC, 79-39, to force a do-or-die playoff for the last semis berth.
