TATAP to stage Battle of Champs

The top paddle wielders in the country today will show their wares in the Battle of the Champions Invitational table tennis tournament on Jan. 19 at the Manila Polo Club in Forbes Park, Makati City.

Current national men’s champion Ernesto Ebuen battles 1999 Brunei Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist Richard Gonzales in the featured men’s singles while women’s champion Sendrina Balatbat tackles Jade Jalloren in the distaff side.

In the boys’ singles, 2002 LG Cup 17-under runner-up Don Paule meets 2001 Rustan’s National Table Tennis Open winner Edward Ramos.

Ebuen and Jalloren will also play opposite Gonzales and Balatbat in the mixed doubles of the event sponsored by FedEx and organized by Table Tennis Association of the Philippines (TATAP) public relations and events manager Robbie Pangilinan.

Meanwhile, TATAP recently launched its website – www.tatap.com – through the effort of the association’s operations and IT chairman Horacio Cadiz and Pangilinan.
