Mark Cardona and James Yap stole the show from prospective PBA applicants trying to make a big impression on the runup to draft day, leading ICTSI over Cheeseball-Shark, 75-67, yesterday to enhance its PBL Challenge Cup semis bid at the Makati Coliseum.
The duo of Cardona and Yap erupted for 17 of their combined score of 37 points in a pivotal third quarter run that sealed the Archers seventh win against four losses.
That pushed ICTSI closer to booking a knockout duel with Group A fourth placer LBC Batangas for the last semifinal slot.
Later in the night, John-O controlled the tempo throughout to oust Montana Jewels from contention, 78-63.
