Close to 70 luminaries are set to see action in third season of this event set at 3 p.m. and sponsored by And1 Sportswear.
Last years staging proved successful. PBL fans enjoyed the "street party atmosphere" at the Makati Coliseum as they cheered for their favorite players and every awesome stunt they make.
If Cyrus Baguio brought the house down with his big slam two years back, former Shark recruit MC Caceres emerged a big revelation last year he jumped over a mans head, took off his warmer before drilling in a power slam.
The biggest question in todays PBL Showcase is who will be the new Slam Off King and what surprising stunt will earn the perfect 10 from the judges.
Caceres wont be able to defend his crown due to injury and the highlight event Slam-Off is expected to be a toss-up among Welcoat Showman Jean Marc Pingris, Montanas Billy Mamaril, Sunkist-Pampangas Arnold Booker, Blus Mike Garcia and guest entry Nino Canaleta of University of the East.
Blus Eric de la Cuesta, who won last years 2-Ball Competition with Edwin Bacani, is set to defend the crown with Aries Dimaunahan against the equally tough tandems of Welcoats Eddie Laure and Ariel Capus, Dazz Joseph Salangsang and Peter Jun Simon, Montanas Jon Dan Salvador and Edgar Echavez, and Cheese Balls-Sharks Ismael Junio and Mark Magsumbol.
Another highlight of the event is the Three-Point Shootout where John-Os Mark Macapagal and Jeff Napa, Montanas Sunday Salvacion and Edgar Echavez, Cheese Balls-Sharks Ismael Junio and ICTSIs James Yap will be battling for the crown won last year by UPs Mike Bravo.
