Cheese Balls-Shark tagged along Sunkist-Pampanga to the grave with an 87-70 victory yesterday in the 2002 PBL Challenge Cup at the Makati Coliseum.
The win, the Cheese Balls second in 10 outings, spoiled the Juicers bid to get into the semifinals via a 4-0 sweep. It was coach Philip Cezars first victory in four games since he assumed the job.
"Medyo nag-adjust pa rin, nangangapa. But finally after three losses, nanalo rin. Nung nag-umpisa kasi ako, kailangang kilalanin ko pa yung mga players ko pati yung laro ng kalaban. But this is good enough, hopefully the Christmas break will be just perfect para mas mag-jell ang team," said Cezar.
In the second game, Blu All Purpose smashed LBC Batangas, 70-55, to remain at second.
