Samsung Digitall Challenge putting goes down south

-
The Samsung Digitall Challenge moves out of the Luzon area for the first time with Cebu set to host the Amateur Tour and Putting Challenge at the well-kept Cebu Country Club this week.

Visayas’ best shotmakers are set to compete for the division titles in the men’s Class A, B, and C and the ladies Class A and B in the second leg of the Samsung Amateur Tour, a 36-hole gross play competition set Thursday and Friday (Dec. 5-6).

The Cebu leg follows the successful launching leg at Eagle Ridge where Erwin Vinluan and Carmellette Villaroman led the winners at the Aoki course.

Boy Blue Ocampo of the organizing Professional Sports Management Group said that with the event being an open competition, Cebu’s best and even those from nearby cities like Bacolod are expected to challenge the best bets of the club.

Samsung is providing an attractive prize package for the winners as well as the usual raffles. Co-sponsors of the tourney are TaylorMade Adidas, Gatorade, Maxfli, Fila, Custom Clubmakers, Hotshots Flame-Grilled Burgers, Wave 89.1, City Lite 88.3, 103.5 K-Lite, Magic 89.9, KillerBee and 99.5 RT are radio partners.

"It’s really gratifying to hear positive comments from players wherein they really want to test their skills in a competition played without handicaps and guided by the real tournament conditions," said Ocampo.

The Tour, according to Ocampo, is a series where players late on the tee and violators of the rule book are disqualified.
