Isada, pal rule national rally championship

SUBIC–Ace driver Vip Isada and navigator Robbie Hermoso posted a blazing 14.31 seconds clocking in their Honda City to wrest top overall honors and the centerpiece National Rally Championship (NRC) 19 diadem in the Petron Blaze Rallye over close rivals Felix Marinas and co-driver Charlie Cruz and the pair of Dindo de Jesus-Bing Ibaviosa recently.

Their closest pursuers had it 14.36 on a Toyota Corolla and 15.07 on a Honda Civic Hatchback, for second and third places, respectively, in the final grind of the series organized by Activity Asia Association and sponsored by Petron Corp. in cooperation with SMBA, Honda Cars Phils., Roadwise Motoring School and Automobile Association of the Philippines.

In other results, Arthur Pasao-Dong Garcia topped the RP 14 class (16.42/Toyota Starlet) while the RP 12 category honors went to the father-and-daughter tandem of Danny and Melissa Santiago (16.42/Honda City) over Jenny Ambata-Sonny Oliveros (20.15/Mitsubishi Lancer.

The Novice crown, meantime, went to Alex Perez-Bryan Chanco who clocked 15.44 seconds aboard a Honda Civic HB while Ramon Santiago lorded the Clubman division.
