Ardinas lead Samsung winners

-
World jungolf champion Dottie Ardina and her father Ed led the winners in the just-concluded second leg of the Samsung Putting Challenge at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club in Laguna.

The eight-year-old Dottie, who is the year’s biggest athletic achievers for her two victories (Junior World and US Kids) in America, was a junior division winner like Jose Esteban, joining eight other qualifiers for next year’s grand finals.

Four expatriates joined the ranks of winners with Charles Brewer, Tony Robbins and Yukio Kunimura making it in the men’s class and Hosoi Masahiro joining the elder Ardina as seniors titlists.

It was Kunimura who came up with the low score of 14 putts in the tourney which is part of a three-in-one event dubbed as the Samsung DigitAll Golf Challenge. Sponsors are TaylorMade adidas, Gatorade, Maxfli, Fila Custom Clubmakers, Hotshots Flame-Grilled Burgers. Wave 89.1, City Lite 88.3, 103.5 K-Lite, Magic 89.9, KillerBee and 99.5 RT are radio partners.

The other qualifiers are Chester Calpotura (men’s) and Tannie Mendoza and Lucy Landicho in the ladies class.

Meanwhile, Samsung appliances including a TV set, VCD, microwave oven, washing machine and refrigerator will be raffled off in the re-scheduled opening stop of the Samsung Amateur Tour on Nov. 21-22 at the Faldo course of Eagle Ridge.
