NPC 1st Golden Putter golf set

The National Press Club (NPC), in celebration of its 50th anniversary, is holding the First Golden Putter golf tournament at the Club Intramuros golf course on Nov. 23.

The organizing committee is composed of Diego Cagahastian, chairman, and members Lito Tacujan, Nixon Kua, P/Chief Superintendent Cris Maralit, Jun Bautista, Joy de los Reyes, Butch del Castillo, Yul Malicse, Roman Floresca, Gerry Zaragosa and Mario Casayuran.

Tee off will start at 1 p.m. Newsmen who are on duty may choose to tee off from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tournament rule to be used is System 36. Trophies and prizes will be given in the Class A, B, C and Guest divisions, and for the overall champion. There will be a designated drop area in Hole No. 4. Men will use the blue tee while ladies, competing against them, will use the white tee.

The following special prizes will be given: Longest drive, Hole No. 5; Hole in one, No. 10; Most accurate drive, Hole No. 13 and Nearest to pin, Nos. 6 and 16.

There will be giveaways, raffle prizes and dinner. Awarding of trophies will coincide with the NPC anniversary dinner at the Manila Hotel on Dec. 15.
