Samsung putting contest at Cangolf

-
After yesterday’s big take-off, the Laguna leg of the Samsung Putting Challenge winds up today at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club with another banner weekend roster expected to vie for slots to the grand finals.

The second of a series of qualifiers to the national finals–where a brand new car will be up for grabs in a unique side-event featuring players who scored holes-in-one–will choose a fresh batch of winners advancing to the next stage.

The putting competition is part of the Samsung DigitAll Golf Challenge, the first major golf venture in the local scene by the electronics giant. It is also supported by TaylorMade Adidas, Gatorade, Maxfli, Custom Clubmakers, Hotshots Flame-Grilled Burgers and Fila. Wave 89.1, City Lite 88.3, 103.5 K-Lite, Magic 89.9, KillerBee and 99.5 RT are radio partners.

All putting entries will play a designed 9-hole course at the Canlubang practice green with a designated hole for an ace. The best gross score per division wins.

PSMG, the organizer of the event which is open to the public, will award prizes to the daily winners in the following divisions: men’s, ladies, jungolfer and seniors. The top two in the men’s and the winners of the other divisions will gain tickets to the finals.

Meanwhile, the kick-off leg of the Samsung Amateur Tour at the Faldo course of Eagle Ridge has been moved to Nov. 21-22 instead to Nov. 14-15 due to numerous requests. The PSMG announced that so many major events are being held simultaneously this week which may affect participation for the launch.
