Robert Cheng bared this yesterday after he got word from organizing committee co-chairman Abe Villanueva Saturday that the Valley board, headed by its president Alexander "Bobot" Marquez, had unanimously approved their request.
"On behalf of the executive and organizing committees, I would like to thank Bobot Marquez and the other board members for their decision," said Cheng, who launched the unique event in 1988 at Capitol Hills.
"We members of the board unanimously approved the request presented by Col. Villanueva because we want to be involved in this good tournament and be a part in golf development," Marquez said.
"We would also like to show that Valley is not only for the golfing executives but also for our bag-toters, " said board treasurer Mike Liamzon.
Aside from Marquez and Liamzon, the other Valley board members are Mekoy Quiogue, Nonoy Carpio, Joe Feliciano, Ben Reyes, Boomba Consunji, Joe Roxas and Orly Tomacruz.
Villanueva and organizing committee co-chairman Manding Santos also hailed the Valley boards
