The 96-car main event saw Raul Dungog of Hongly Sports notch his third championship with his Civic EG cammer at 13.9 seconds @ 99.06 mph. He earned P8,000 and a gallon of Havoline Fully Synthetic oil.
Mark Uson took second spot with a 14.57 @ 97.62 mph best run in his Civic SiR. San Jacinto Auto Group’s Pinggoy Roa wound up third with a 15.84-second ticket after whipping the current Hot Street Bracket class Points leader Carlo Manchua. Roa received P2,000 and Havoline Energy Motor oil.
In the 52-car first event, Rodrigo Uy of Sta. Maria, Bulacan bagged his first bracket racing win with his 14.69-second injected 4AGE Jeepster against Gilbert Uson. Uy earned P8,000 and Havoline Fully Synthetic motor oil. He and Uson both ran quicker than their dialed in times for a double breakout but the latter broke out the most in his Civic. Like his brother, Gilbert took home P4,000 and Havoline Formula motor oil as runners-up. RevSpeed’s Jesper Bong Rambuyon, who posted 13.87 time slips finished third in his black Civic cammer and won P2,000 and Havoline Energy oil. The first event was a resumption of the rained-out Oct. 12 X-Drags Power Festival.
The anti-street racing drive, which is also supported by the Department of Interior and Local Government, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, PNP-Traffic Management Group and Landtrade Properties & Marketing Corp., aims to eliminate if not minimize the dangerous and illegal street racing activities along public roads. PDRF has been conducting legal drag races since 1992 without any incident due to stringent safety measures imposed on racers.
