The inaugural event is being staged by Manila Lady Golfers Foundation, Inc. established two years ago with the noble purpose to help fight abuse against women and children.
The championship flight for handicap 0 to 9 will feature some of the best amateurs in the land including Divina Delasin, sister of LPGA champion Dorothy Delasin, as well as Carmelette Villaroman, Aileen Yao, Jayvie Agojo, Tracy Locsin, Lora Roberto, Ia Bakunawa, Carina Ricamonte, Lucy Landicho and Matet Salivio.

The Open starts with the Ladies and Men Amateur Tournament or Lam-Am on Nov. 11, Monday. More than 60 men have signed up.
Tuesday, Nov. 12 to Thursday, Nov. 14, is the three-day tournament proper for the amateur lady golfers. The P3,500 fee includes the golf cart and the practice round.
Trophies will be awarded to the champion and the first runner-up in all classes: Class A, 0 to 9 handicap, Class B, 10 to 26, Class C, 27 to 30, and the Senior Class.
