Defending champion Sta. Elena, Alabang, Villamor and Southwoods emerged the top four qualifiers after the eight-leg series and will be disputing the prestigious WGAP Cup designed by Impy Pilapil in three weekends starting at Riviera on Nov. 6.
Eight players will make up a team and will be competing in four different formats: alternate, aggregate, bestball and scramble.
From Riviera, the finals move on to The Country Club on Nov. 11. As expected, the Sta. Elena ladies dominated the eliminations, the eighth and final leg of which they hosted recently.
Sta. Elena took the overall crowns in the Class A and Class B divisions with Villamor going home with the Class C title.
Sta. Elena edged perennial rival Manila Southwoods for the Class A plum and defeated Alabang for Class B title. Villamor won over Alabang in Class C.
The overall individual plum went to Princess Katigbak of Mt. Malarayat, finishing ahead of Navys Leni Cabili.
"We had a very exciting season with so many clubs getting involved in the race for the four finals slots. We expect the finals to be tighter than it was last year," said WGAP president Gina Tuason.
Tuason and the WGAP board bared the details of the finals during the Elena tournament.
