Dagupan hosts chess tourney

The Dagupan City government, through Mayor Benjamin Lim and the city sports commission headed by Cezar Luis Samson Jr., in cooperation with the Dagupan Stallion Chess Club presents the Dagupan City Open chess tournament Oct. 21-24 at the Dagupan City Astrodome.
International masters Chito Garma and Barlow Nadera and several national masters will lead the cast of participants in the tournament which offers a cash prize of P30,000 to the champion.
Entry fee is P200 in the nine-round Swiss system tourney which also stakes P20,000 for second placer, P10,000 third placer, P5,000 fourth, P2,000 each for fifth-10th placers and P1,000 each to 11th-15 placers.
