Victories in international competitions have boosted the confidence of the team which will be led by Jenevieve Camacho-Michael Mendoza duo and Crisaldo Rendon-Eleanor Hayco tandem.
Camacho and Mendoza topped the 2002 Hongkong International Dancesport Championship last Sept. 28. The following day, it was Hayco and Rendon who created ripples at the Sydney Olympic Park in Australia for winning first place in the South Pacific Dancesport Competition.
Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) chairman Jonathan Guardo was elated by the Cebuano dancers for their feats abroad and he expressed confidence that they will excel in the coming national tourney.
"They have won honors in the international field. I am confident that they will continue to shine in the national event," said Guardo, also the president and CEO of Osaka Iridology.
Hayco and Rendon will compete in Grade A Standard and Latin Senior while Camacho and Mendoza, along with teammates Leodegario Marante and Maricris Hermosa, will display their wares in Grade A Latin.
