Multivitamins keep RP pugs on their toes

-
Among the athletes representing the Philippines in the Asian Games in Busan, a lot of attention will be on the eight-man boxing team, all veteran internationalists, to bring home gold medals.

If only to make up for their dismal showing in the last Asian and South East Asian Games, the boxers are all fired up to show that they have what it takes to bring glory to the country through their ring exploits.

And if they do, Revicon, the official vitamin of the Philippine boxing team, would have contributed something to that effort. Revicon supplied all the vitamin requirements of the RP team to the Asian Games and even before, during the training and previous campaigns abroad by the RP training team, Revicon has been supplying the boxers with vitamins.

"We know that in any sports, an athlete needs a lot of power and stamina, more so for boxers, and vitamins supplements have always been a must for athletes. Revicon is happy to be partners with the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines (ABAP) in providing this need to its athletes," said Revicon brand manager Laiza Filart.

The relationship started not just this year but last year yet when Revicon sponsored amateur exhibition boxing matches in the provinces coinciding with regional festivals. "This was in support of ABAP’s grassroots development boxing program and we sponsored bouts in Cebu, Dagupan, Davao, and Naga last year," added Filart.

This year, Revicon’s support was expanded as the national training team boxers started participating in some of the regional boxing meets as part of their tune-up and elimination, and for the Asian Games in Busan, Revicon also supplied the RP boxers with training bags and jackets.

ABAP president Manny Lopez lauded Revicon for its support for boxing saying it will go a long way in reviving boxing in the Philippines, together with all the other sponsors who have rallied behind the RP boxing team.

"We are confident that our boxers will give it their 100% in Busan and we are already happy at being part of the support group behind them. We wish them all the luck in the world," concluded Filart.

The boxing team is made up of Violito Payla, Harry Tanamor, Romeo Brin, Roel Laguna, Anthony Igusquiza, Ferdie Gamo, Chris Camat, and Maraon Golez.
