Juvenile race up at Sta. Ana

Undefeated colt Diktador leads a cast of classy two-year-olds seeing action in four featured "Juvenile" stakes races lined up in today’s impressive 14-race schedule at the Santa Ana Park.

No less than 30 of the country’s most promising two-year-old gallopers compete in the 2002 Philracom Juvenile Stakes Series, a P2.7-million racing extravaganza headlined by the "Explosive," the "Cool Star" and the twinbill "Hopeful" Stakes Races.

Unscathed in four starts, Diktador will try to extend his winning run to five races in the "Explosive Stakes."

But the colt by Treasure Cay (USA) out of Flying Angel will be facing a formidable challenge from seven other upstarts led by chief rival High Octane and recent Sweepstakes Race winner Savvy Lad.

In the "Snow White Stakes," 11 classy fillies led by last month’s "Cool Star Stakes" winner Shining Pyramid will be vying for the title. — Ramon Romualdez
