Reyes sweeps American in one-sided encounter

Efren "Bata" Reyes, fresh from victory in the International Challenge of Champions in Connecticut, lived up to his new title "Champion of Champions" by beating American J. R. Calvert, in a one-sided match in the opening round of the Gabriel Las Vegas Invitational 9-ball tournament in Nevada, Tuesday.
Reyes defeated Calvert, 3-0, in a best-of-5 of race-to-5 format, winning the sets, 5-0, 5-2 and 5-1.
His Puyat Sports teammate Francisco "Django" Bustamante, winner of the Peninsula 9-Ball Open in Virginia last week, plays his first match against countryman Santos Sambajon on Wednesday (Thursday, Manila time). Reyes meets Keath McCready, USA on the same day.
