The whole-day event, which starts at 8:30 a.m., features more than 250 tankers aged six to 17 years old who took up the sport only this past summer.
In all, 68 events will be held in six age groups, namely, 6-under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-17 in both the boys and girls divisions.
Well-crafted medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each event, with the fourth to eighth placers receiving ribbons.
"In line with Gov. Rebecca Ynares program of promoting mass-based sports for the youth, we will be hosting events of this kind on a monthly basis with every event having new innovations," said Tess Eser of Aqua Sports Unlimited Inc., the outfit operating the swimming pool at the Rizal Capitol.
Gov. Ynares and some Purefoods officials, led by their president, Francisco Alejo, are expected to grace the opening ceremonies.
