August Fore! tourney slated at Wack Wack

-
Counting a sportsfest for the disabled, a medical center for indigents and scholarship grants for the poor in the countryside as among its many beneficiaries, the sixth staging of the August Fore! Invitational will be held on Aug. 9 at the Wack Wack west course in Mandaluyong.

Tee-off starts at 7:30 a.m. with no less than former President Fidel Ramos expected to grace the opening ceremonials.

The 18-hole tourney, an annual tribute to RI past district governor and current Monetary Board member Melito "Bimbo" Salazar, is a three-man team competition using the Stableford net of handicap system of scoring.

Portals and San Miguel Corporation are coming in as major sponsors in support of the worthy projects sourcing its funds from the tourney like the annual Rotarympics and outreach programs of the Rotary Club of Diliman Foundation and the Tib-ong Scholarship Foundation which is helping the less fortunate in Bacolod get education.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, Inc. is lending its support by way of a Lancer GLX that will serve as the hole-in-one prize. A 110cc Jieda feature motorcycle is another prize for an ace.

Other sponsors are Gleitsmann Security Inks Gmbh, International Container Terminal Services, Inc., Nestle Phils., LG and Atkimson Chemicals Corp.

For particulars, please contact the tournament director at 435-1943 or 4330782.
