Rosales fires 69 for solo 14th; Delasin in 20th

NEW ROCHELLE Jennifer Rosales of the Philippines closed out with a 69 and wound up all alone in 14th place while Fil-Am Dorothy Delasin shot an even-par 71 for a share of 20th place in the Sybase Big Apple Classic Sunday.
Rosales, who finished with a 280 total, will head straight to the bank with $14,630 (P.7 million) while Delasin, tied with five others at 282, won $9,982 (P.5 million). They are expected to be back in action later this week for the Wendys Championship in Dublin, Ohio.
Rosales, the former US NCAA individual champion, is enjoying her best season since joining the LPGA in 2000. In 17 tournaments this year alone, she has earned a total of $199,362 compared to Delasins $185,730.
Rosales birdied seven holes , including three straight holes starting on the first. She also birdied the seventh, ninth, 11th and 15 to make up for a double bogey on the fifth and bogeys on the eighth, 13th and 16.
Delasin, who went 71-69-71 in the first three rounds, was one-under after nine holes after birdies on the second, third and ninth against bogeys on the sixth and seventh. Coming home, she bogeyed the 12th, 13th and 16th with birdies on the 15th and 18th.
