Ateneo overwhelms rivals in BEST opener

Defending champion Ateneo lived up to expectation by routing its two rivals in the Milo Best SBP/Passerelle basketball tournament, which unwrapped Sunday at the St. Benedict College courts in Alabang Hills.
The Ateneans crushed Community of Learners, 65-11, in the SBP division and then overwhelmed Don Bosco Mandaluyong, 101-44, in the Passerelle group.
In other games, St. Francis ripped JASMS, 56-29, in the SBP, while St. Anthony toppled De La Salle Zobel, 76-65, and Flos Carmeli shocked Lourdes Mandaluyong, 66-59, in the Passerelle division.
The FC boys banked on Rascos 28 points to overcome a 29-34 halftime deficit.
